Living in Close Care

Whether you are independent or need some help at home, living in a Close Care flat, apartment or bungalow will allow you to live in your own home. All properties are self contained and independent but you have the option of taking advantage of the additional services available from the main home.

For a monthly management charge we aim to give you peace of mind and take the worry out of owning your home. Your Close Care property will be your own but we look after all the routine services that can become a worry. You also have the additional peace of mind of knowing that care is close at hand should you have an emergency.

The following are all services that are provided for within the management charge:

Emergency call

Your home is fitted with an emergency alarm, connected to the care home should you need some help quickly.

Maintenance services

The exterior of your home and all communal areas will be fully maintained by ourselves. Window cleaning and the maintenance of doors and external woodwork will be regularly undertaken. Gutters and drainpipes will be kept clear of leaves and debris and the gardens will be well kept and regularly maintained. Onsite maintenance for small jobs inside your own home is also available.

Insurances

We will insure all buildings against fire, storm and flood damage. We will also insure against any public injury. You are responsible for insuring your own contents.

Home facilities

You are welcome to use the reception and lounges within the home.

Activities

We have a full timetable of various activities, outings and events which you are welcome to join, some of which may be subject to an additional charge. We work with each individual resident to ensure we offer social activities that they enjoy.

Shopping trips

We have a timetable of planned shopping trips that you can either join or request that items are purchased for you.

Administrative services

Our administration team may be able to assist you with routine tasks such as photocopying, email and posting your letters. We are also happy to help with organising paper deliveries.

Interior design service

If you would like help in selecting new carpets, curtains and wall finishes we have an interior design service to help make this easier for you.

Additional services

The following services are available to Close Care residents at an additional charge:

Personal care

As all Close Care locations are registered as a Domiciliary Care Agency, we are able to offer personal care in your own home. We can provide you with tailored-made care to suit your needs to ensure you have the confidence to maintain your independence and enjoy living in your Close Care home.

Your care needs will be assessed and together we will agree a care plan that provides you with just the right amount of support. The cost of personal care will depend on the level of your needs. If you need the regular support of a qualified nurse, we would be happy to provide you with assistance in arranging this.

Hairdressing

Hairdressing facilities are available for both male and female residents. Our hairdresser visits regularly and is available by appointment.

Chiropody and Physiotherapy

Our visiting Chiropodist and Physiotherapist are available by appointment, offering a service
for individual needs.

Dining services

Breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as refreshments, are available in our restaurant. Should you require a meal to be delivered to your home, there may be a small room service charge.

Support services

You may wish to take advantage of the additional services on offer to all Close Care residents that are available from our professional teams:
• Light domestic cleaning
• Laundry service
• Catering services, including room service direct to your Close Care home

Special diets

Whether you are vegetarian, diabetic or have any other specific dietary requirements, we will provide you with the appropriate food to suit your personal diet. When you first arrive you will meet our Head of Catering to discuss any special requirements you may have.

Entertaining

The main house has a number of attractive lounges which are perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, bridge parties and entertaining a number of friends and family. We can provide catering and waiting staff for your special event. We also have a private dining room for smaller, more intimate occasions.

Selling your Close Care home

Should you wish to sell your Close Care home we ask that you first offer it to us, which enables you to safeguard the majority of the original purchase price. Taking advantage of this means that you won’t have to worry about which estate agent to choose, nor when and how you will show prospective purchasers around your home.

Also you won’t be troubled by the process of waiting for purchasers to make offers and for them to sell their existing properties – as well as waiting for those further down the chain!

From the time you tell us you wish to sell your home, we will actively search for a suitable purchaser with the expectation that we can buy your property quickly.
