“When Barchester Healthcare invited me to head up their new ‘Cooking with Care’ initiative, I was delighted to accept. I could see that as an organisation, they are passionate about providing the best care for their residents, and meal times are no exception.
Cooking with Care is all about ensuring that the food at Barchester Care Homes isn't just nutritious, but tantalising and delicious. Barchester chefs benefit from their very own Chef Academy which provides training to ensure they stay at the top of their skill. So they are all able to produce the quality and variety of food that will encourage even those with the smallest appetites into eating well.
Each year, Barchester Healthcare runs a fiercely contested interhome Chef’s Competition. I chair a panel of judges who decide on a winner at a final cook-off.
