Active Life
Most Barchester homes have a full-time Activities Co-ordinator who arranges a varied and extensive calendar of events and entertainment. There is always something going on every week, and the range of activities on offer is designed to appeal to a broad cross-section of residents. Fully aware that everyone has different interests, hobbies and outlooks, the Activities Co-ordinator is always open to suggestions for future events.
We also have a lively and involving activity programme for persons with dementia and related challenges with memory in our Memory Lane Communities. The Activities Co-ordinator and skilled care teams provide a range of activities that residents can manage and enjoy, while supporting diminishing skills. Activities include gentle exercise, gardening, baking, outings, pet care and life skills, all of which stimulate interest and independence.
To see more activities, events, stories and features from our homes download the Barchester Chronicles, our in-house magazine.

Delicious, Nutritional Menus
As with any home, the kitchen is an integral part of life at a Barchester care home. The teams of experienced chefs take great care in planning a highly varied menu for residents. Taking advantage of local produce to guarantee freshness and taste, meals throughout the day are of an excellent standard. Ensuring that meals meet all the dietary requirements of older residents is achieved alongside producing food that is colourful and delicious.
Resident can choose to savour each meal in the dinning rooms or, if they prefer, in the comfort of their own rooms.
